About
Resonant Systems Group (RSG) exists to help manufacturers think more clearly about their systems and make decisions that hold up under real production pressure.
Manufacturing presents no shortage of challenges. It is a complex discipline where technical, organizational, and human systems must work together for success.
Clear, system-level approaches help reveal root causes and create leverage — allowing organizations to improve without adding unnecessary complexity. RSG helps restore clarity and identify practical improvements that hold up under real operating conditions.
What RSG Does
RSG provides engineering support focused on:
- Developing reliable, repeatable, and stable manufacturing processes.
- Identifying automation and efficiency opportunities that fit real constraints.
- Supporting engineering and technical leadership decision-making.
- Building quality systems that are clear, efficient, and practical.
The work is deliberately grounded in real shop environments, rather than theory or generic best practices.
How RSG Approaches Engineering
A small set of principles guides RSG’s work:
Clarity and simplicity over complexity
The best ideas have little value if they are not understood. Systems must be clear to the people who use them. As complexity increases, failure modes multiply and confidence erodes.
Evidence over assumptions
Decisions should be grounded in what is known, measured, and observed. Assumptions are made explicit and tested, not carried forward implicitly.
Constraints are real
Ambition and improvement matter, but they must be balanced against real limitations. Effective solutions respect boundaries of time, resources, capability, and risk.
Systems over heroics
Processes should succeed without relying on a few key individuals. Durable systems reduce dependence on memory, workarounds, and exceptional effort.
Learning is continuous
There is no finish line for learning. Curiosity, skill development, and reflection — including learning from failure — are essential to improving both systems and people over time.
Our Leadership
Resonant Systems Group is led by Dustin Whaley, a manufacturing and systems engineer with experience spanning precision machining, tooling and workholding, CNC programming and probing strategy, quality systems, and manufacturing data and automation.
His background includes work inside small job shops, growing manufacturers, and regulated aerospace environments — where production pressure, quality requirements, and long-term sustainability must be balanced.
That experience shapes RSG’s approach: practical engineering judgment grounded in real operating conditions, not abstract theory or generic best practices.
Who RSG Works With
RSG primarily supports:
- Precision machining and manufacturing organizations.
- Aerospace and defense suppliers.
- Small to mid-sized teams navigating growth or increasing complexity.
- Leaders who want better systems, not just more effort.
Engagements are structured to support internal capability, not create dependency.
Why “Resonant Systems Group”
When systems resonate, they reinforce one another rather than working at cross purposes. Small inputs produce predictable outcomes instead of noise, variation, or instability. When systems work together, performance improves, and unnecessary tension, frustration, and confusion are reduced.
RSG works with organizations to align processes, decisions, and constraints so changes build constructively rather than amplify unintended effects. Individual processes are evaluated in the context of the system as a whole.
That alignment is the goal:
- Changes that produce expected results.
- Processes that don’t amplify noise or variation.
- Organizations that remain stable as complexity increases.
